This story brings together a lot of characters who are highly unlikely to ever collaborate in the Teuton world. A black priest, a Teuton city’s lady and everything in between team up to take down an asylum used largely for unsavory activity. The main characters include Karl, a disgraced young priest returning home from self-imposed exile, and Skye trying to find her true place in Teuton society. While trying to rekindle an old romance, the two find themselves in a precarious errand to right the long-time wrongs of the local Teuton asylum. The romantic tension between the two is very strong, but the sinking feeling created when Skye ends up in the clutches of the asylum doctors is almost unbearable. It presents a profound test for all the new found strength and resolve of Karl.
